Insurance and Billing

Now accepting: Aetna and BCBS

I am in network with most Aetna and Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans (excluding Blue Home) for nutrition counseling. Sleep coaching is NOT covered by insurance.

Insurance coverage will vary by plan. Some insurances will cover nutrition counseling at 100% with no co-pay, and others require a deductible to be met with co-insurance. Many plans have limits on how many visits are allowed per plan year.

If your insurance does not cover my services, here are my out-of-pocket rates:

Initial assessment (75 minutes): $225

Follow up visit (45 minutes): $140

The No Surprises Act is aimed at eliminating surprise medical bills for patients. With regard to your work with me, if you are not using your insurance to cover nutrition counseling, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

I recommend that you call your insurance plan to verify your benefits. Call the number on the back of your card and ask: â€‹â€‹

1.     Does my plan cover outpatient nutrition counseling? (codes: 97802 and 97803)

a.     If yes, how many how many sessions are allowed?

b.     Does my plan only cover visits that are “medically necessary”? Do they cover preventive services? (for preventative services, check if they will cover diagnosis code Z71.3)

3.     Do I have a copay for outpatient nutrition counseling?

4.     Is Greta Breskin an in-network provider?

5.     Is telehealth covered for nutrition counseling?

6.     Do I have out-of-network benefits for nutrition counseling?
